Break and Enters Investigated

A couple of break and enters in Chatham-Kent this week are under investigation.

Police said sometime between Tuesday at 5 p.m. and Wednesday at 7 a.m. somebody forced their way into a house under construction on Riverview Line and stole approximately $8,000 worth of tools and building supplies.

Then between Tuesday and Wednesday, someone entered unlocked detached buildings on a property on Charing Cross Road. Investigators said various tools were taken with an estimated value of $800.

Speeding Tickets

Chatham-Kent police issued 32 tickets during a traffic blitz on Wednesday.

Officers conducted speeding enforcement on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham in the Community Safety Zone over four hours and pulled over a bunch of speeders. Police said the fasted driver was going 82km/hr in the 40km/hr zone.

Wanted Men Caught

The law has caught up with a couple of men wanted in Chatham-Kent.

On Wednesday, Windsor police arrested a 35-year-old Chatham man wanted in Chatham-Kent for failing to attend court, possession under $5,000 and break and enter along with committing a theft. The unidentified man was returned to Chatham-Kent police. Police in Windsor also arrested a 39-year-old Windsor man on Wednesday wanted in Chatham-Kent for breaching his probation and failing to attend court. The man, who hasn't been named by police, was picked up by Chatham-Kent officers.
