Boil water advisory ended

A boil water advisory is no longer in effect for the Tilbury and Wheatley area.

The advisory was issued for the Tilbury area, including Coutts Line, Mint Line, Dashwheel Road, Baptiste Road, Jeanette’s Creek Road, Forbes Line, and Tecumseh Line, late Tuesday afternoon because of elevated levels of bacteria in the water lines. It was then expanded late Wednesday afternoon for Leamington users of the Wheatley Water System for the same reason.

Shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday, CK Public Health announced that the advisory was cancelled after the latest test results came in.

"CK Public Health has received the test results from the water samples taken on January 7, 8, and 9, 2020. Tests conducted at the Ontario Water Testing Centre confirm the results were satisfactory," CK Public Health said in a release. "Based on these results, the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Colby has rescinded the boil water advisory."

Anyone with any additional questions is encouraged to call CK Public Health at 519-355-1071.
