Employer One survey back for another year

The Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board wants to hear from local employers.

The Employer One Survey is open now until January 31.

"It's an opportunity for employers to share with us their experiences in the last calendar year," said project manager Kristy Jacobs. "So things like separations, hires, challenges, that kind of stuff. Just to help us get a really good picture of what's going on."

Jacobs added that the survey is open is every business in Chatham-Kent.

"Any employer, whether you have zero employees, you're a business of one, or you are a multi-national corporation with a place here in Chatham-Kent, we're hoping to hear from all different levels, all different geographies, and all different sectors."

This is the sixth year for the survey, and they've learned a lot over the past five years.

"Starting from the very first survey that we had, a lot of employers are talking about challenges with soft skills," said Jacobs. "So there's been lots of research done around the soft skills, we've brought in some programming that's been à la carte that employers can access."

Soft skills are things like communication, teamwork, work ethic, problem-solving, and creative thinking. Jacobs said they're planning on taking a deep dive into the data after this year.

"Kind of see what we've learned over the years, what the trends are, and also kind of map out what solutions have come out of the data we have gotten. Because a lot has happened and I don't think that the average person knows that it's been connected to the survey."

The survey takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete, depending on how many employees. For more information on the Employer One survey, CLICK HERE.
