Police find fentanyl during search

A 34-year-old woman is in trouble with police after officers allegedly found a powerful painkiller in her possession.

Police said when they found the woman when they were responding to a call about some suspicious activity on Victoria Avenue in Chatham Thursday night.

That's also when officers allegedly found some fentanyl in her possession.

The woman was arrested and taken back to police headquarters before she was released with a future court date.

Tools targeted during storage locker break-in

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they investigate a break-in at a business on Queens Line in Chatham.

Officers said someone broke into a storage locker at the undisclosed business sometime Thursday morning and took off with various tools.

Wheatley garage broken into

Police are also investigating a break-in in Wheatley where $380 worth of tools were reported stolen.

Investigators said an unknown male suspect broke into a garage at a residence on Eastman Avenue Thursday night and left with various tools that were inside.

Police don't have any suspects at this point.

Three wanted persons arrested

The law has come calling for three people who were wanted for a variety of crimes in Chatham-Kent.

Police said a 30-year-old woman who was wanted for mischief was arrested Thursday morning in the area of Princess Street in Chatham. She was later released with a future court date.

A 35-year-old man -- also wanted for mischief -- was arrested in the area of Phyllis Street Thursday morning by an officer on general patrol. He was later released with a future court date.

And a 48-year-old man who was wanted on a surety relief warrant was arrested in the area of Ninth Line in Raleigh Township Thursday night. He was taken back to police headquarters for booking.
