Man Accused of Uttering Threats

An 18-year-old Tilbury man has been arrested after an online conversation earlier this week went sideways.

Chatham-Kent police said the exchange between the two men who know each other resulted in threats being sent through Facebook Messenger.

Wednesday morning, the teen was charged with uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death and uttering threats to damage property.

Man Charged with Break and Enter

Break and enter charges have been laid against a Blenheim man after he went to a woman's house and allegedly kicked in the garage door.

Chatham-Kent police said the 27-year-old man and the woman know each other.

Damage is estimated at $750.

The incident happened on Wednesday.

Man Charged with Domestic Related Offences

Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a disturbance at a home in Chatham.

Police said the man was bound by conditions not to attend the woman’s house.

The 48-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested in the backyard on Wednesday and charged with assault and failing to comply with his bail conditions.

Woman Charged with being Intoxicated in a Public Place

A drunk woman caused quite a raucous at the hospital on Thursday morning and had to be arrested.

Chatham-Kent police officers responded to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance around 2 a.m. because an intoxicated woman was causing a disturbance.

Police said the 66-year-old woman was arrested and taken to police headquarters for her own safety.

She has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place and was released after she sobered up.

CKPS Kick-Off Festive RIDE Season

The Festive RIDE program is underway across Chatham-Kent.

It kicked off on Wednesday night, the National Day of Remembrance for Road Crash Victims, with spot checks in Chatham and Wallaceburg.

Police said a total of 550 vehicles were stopped and checked with no infractions.

Chatham-Kent police remind all drivers that RIDE spot checks will increase throughout the holiday season in an effort to keep our roads safe.

Police urge the public to call 911 if they believe someone is driving while impaired.

"You could be saving someone’s life," said Constable Renee Cowell, Public Information Officer with Chatham-Kent police. "If you are enjoying festive beverages, please plan for a safe ride home."
