High-speed chase in Wallaceburg

A suspicious vehicle led police on a high-speed chase in Wallaceburg.

It happened on Saturday when police attempted to stop the vehicle because it had obstructed licence plates. Instead of pulling over, the driver sped away from police.

Officers followed the car but had to stop the pursuit after only two minutes because of public safety concerns.

Woman arrested on warrant

A woman who was already by police wanted for stealing was busted again this weekend for allegedly trying to shoplift.

Police say on Saturday they were called to a business in Chatham for a shoplifting complaint. A 35-year-old inside the business was seen acting suspicious and was located by officers.

She was asked to leave and was trespassed from the location. During this time, the woman was found to have an outstanding warrant for theft and possession of stolen property.

She was arrested and released with a future court date.
