A 29-year-old man from Wheatley has died following a single-vehicle crash on Wheatley Road between Tilbury and Wheatley.
The traffic unit has taken over an investigation after the fatal crash happened on Friday morning.
Chatham-Kent police closed a section of Wheatley Road between Campbell Road and Goodreau Line shortly before 5 a.m. on Friday. Officers said a preliminary investigation shows that the driver lost control of the vehicle, at which time it left the road and rolled multiple times. The 29-year-old driver was the only person inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. His name has not been disclosed.
Police closed Wheatley Road in the area of the crash to conduct an investigation but it has since been reopened to traffic.
