CK Public Library introduces new donation initiative

If you have any overdue book fines,  you'll have a unique opportunity to get rid of them this month.

From November 25 to November 30, Chatham-Kent Public Library (CKPL) will be running its first-ever 'Food for Fines' initiative.

During that time, people can bring in unexpired, non-perishable food items to any CKPL branch and in exchange, library staff will waive $5 in overdue fines per donated item up to a maximum of $50 per account.

Donations collected will be given to local organizations in communities across Chatham-Kent to benefit those in need. If you don't have any fines for late items, the CKPL will still accept your donations and make sure it gets to someone who needs it most during the holiday season.
