Tools stolen from repair shop in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after someone ransacked a small engine repair shop on Creek Road over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Police said someone broke into the business sometime between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning and took off with the following items:

- Computer with 15" screen

- Computer with 17" screen

- MSI computer with GE62 Gaming Series

- 32" flat screen Westinghouse Smart TV

- 3-in-1 Titanium Welder 120/240 volt with two tanks -- green in colour

- Generator

- Torque wrenches and air tools

- Various other tools

- Oakdale cigarettes and cash

The total value of the theft is estimated at between $30,000-$40,000.

Two more arrests from Wanted List

A pair of Chatham men in their 30s who made their way onto the CKPS Wanted List have been arrested.

Police said officers caught up with the first suspect, a 30-year-old man, on Park Street in Chatham Monday morning. He was arrested and charged with mischief, failing to attend for his fingerprints, and failing to attend court -- then released with conditions and a future court date.

The second suspect -- a 36-year-old man wanted for breaching his probation, assault, and failing to attend court -- was arrested Monday night while police were responding to a disturbance call at a residence in Chatham. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Wanted woman arrested for breaching release conditions

A 28-year-old woman had a bit of a rude awakening on Thanksgiving Day when police showed up at the vehicle she was sleeping in.

Officers said they found the woman while they were responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle parked behind a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham Monday morning. The woman was wanted for failing to comply with her release conditions.

She was arrested, charged, and then released with conditions and a future court date.
