Shoplifting complaint leads to arrest

A man is in trouble with the law after some alleged shoplifting.

It happened Sunday evening when police responded to a theft complaint at a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

The man had concealed merchandise and left the business without paying. He was located by police but attempted to flee on foot.

Officers found the 37-year-old shortly after and arrested him. He was taken to police headquarters where he was eventually released with a future court date.

Man arrested in Chatham 

Sunday evening police responded to a residence on Orchard Heights in Chatham.

A man at the residence was found to be drunk and was refusing to go back into his residence when directed by police.

As a result, the 52-year-old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held until sober.

Bail violations in Chatham 

A man is being held in police custody after breaching his probation conditions.

It happened Sunday morning when cops responded to a call at a residence on Prince Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, an officer found a man at the residence that was breaching his probation conditions, which was that he was not supposed to be at the residence at all.

The 29-year-old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he is to be held pending a bail hearing.

Bail violations in Wallaceburg 

Early Monday morning an officer on patrol in Wallaceburg located a man on Wallace Street who was known to be breaching his conditions as he was on a curfew.

The 26-year-old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he is to be held for a bail hearing.
