Three men face gun, drug charges following 401 traffic stop

Three men from Brampton and Mississauga are facing over a dozen charges after police found cocaine, opioids and two firearms during a traffic stop on Highway 401 in Chatham.

The Ontario Provincial Police said the vehicle was stopped on Tuesday in the eastbound lanes of the highway at around 3:45 p.m.

After the drugs and guns were found during a search of the vehicle, 20-year-old Kashawn Brown-Lake of Brampton, 21-year-old Oshane Davis-Forbes of Mississauga and 21-year-old De-Andre Williams-Bonner of Mississauga were arrested.

The three men are all facing the following charges:

  • Two counts of possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Two counts of carrying a concealed weapon
  • Two counts of being an occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm present
  • Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Two counts of transporting a firearm in a careless manner
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm knowing the serial number had been tampered with
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance (opioids other than heroin) for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
