Man discovers there's a warrant for his arrest

A man who attended CK police headquarters on Friday morning got more than he was bargaining for.

The 46-year-old went into the police station only to discover that there was a warrant issued for his arrest for failing to attend court.

The man was arrested and transported to the courthouse to deal with the warrant.

Uhaul trailer stolen in Chatham

Police are looking for any information that could lead them to a stolen trailer.

The U-Haul utility trailer was taken from a Merritt Avenue address in Chatham sometime between Tuesday and Thursday.

The 6x12 enclosed trailer is orange and white in colour and was last seen with Colorado licence plate QZY385.

The investigation is ongoing but anyone with information is asked to contact Constable J. WEEDON at jeremyw@chatham-kent.ca. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.

Woman arrested for public intoxication

A woman had to spend some time in police care after having too much to drink.

Just before midnight on Friday, the 26-year-old was located on King Street in Chatham.

Police determined she was too intoxicated to care for herself.

She was arrested, transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and lodged until sober.
