Vehicle stolen from Chatham dealership

Chatham-Kent police asking you to keep an eye out for a stolen 2016 silver Dodge Challenger (seen below) -- and to give them a call if you see it.

Officers said the vehicle was stolen during a break-in at Chatham Chrysler at around 3:30 a.m. Thursday. Investigators said someone forced their way into the building, took the keys for the vehicle, and then drove off.

The car was last seen with Ontario license plates CDHS 816 and it's valued at approximately $40,000.

Man charged with assault after disturbance call

A 29-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats in connection with an incident on King Street in Chatham Wednesday night.

Police said they arrested the man after officers were called to a "disturbance" between some family members.

He was charged and released with conditions and a future court date.

Text and phone call lead to arrest

Chatham-Kent police have arrested a 38-year-old man for allegedly contacting a specific Wheatley woman even though he wasn't supposed to get in touch with her.

Police said the man allegedly texted the woman and called her Monday night even though he had been previously released from custody on the condition that he was not to communicate with her.

Officers picked him up Wednesday morning and took him to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Wanted man arrested in Chatham

Police have caught up with a 34-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for allegedly breaching his probation order.

Officers said they arrested him shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday after someone called in a report about a suspicious man in the area of Poplar Street in Chatham.

When police found the man, they learned that he was also allegedly out past his curfew.

The accused was arrested, charged, and then released with conditions and a future court date.
