Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

The law has caught up with a wanted man in Chatham-Kent.

Police arrested the 34-year-old man in Blenheim on Sunday. The unnamed suspect became wanted after the person responsible for his supervision while out on bail requested to be removed from that role. The suspect was wanted on nine outstanding charges, including domestic violence and assault.

He surrendered to police after a short foot chase.

Bail Violations in Chatham

An arrest warrant has been issued for a man who allegedly ran from Chatham-Kent police during a medical emergency.

Police were called to help paramedics in Chatham on Sunday at approximately 5 a.m. Officers found a 31-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman but they ran away. Police said the woman did not run far because she experienced "medical distress" from "suspected illicit drug use" and was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for treatment. The male suspect managed to get away.

The location has not been disclosed.

They both had a court-ordered curfew and were not to associate with each other.

The female suspect was taken into police custody after she was discharged from the hospital.

Both their names have not been made public by police.

Woman Arrested for Domestic Assault

A  27-year-old woman has been charged following two domestic assaults in Chatham.

Police said officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance on Sunday and arrested her.

Police have not disclosed a location.

She has been charged with two counts of assault and three counts of assault with a weapon against her common-law partner. The female suspect has also been charged with one count of assault against her eight-year-old child.

Her name has not been made public.
