UPDATE: Severe thunderstorms expected across Southwestern Ontario

Parts of southwestern Ontario were in for some wet weather on Wednesday.

Environment Canada has ended a severe thunderstorm warning for Chatham-Kent, Windsor and Essex County, but a watch for those areas remains in effect.  A severe thunderstorm watch has also since ended for London, Middlesex County and Elgin County.

Meteorologists are calling for thunderstorms to develop over lower Michigan Wednesday afternoon and move into Ontario. The main threat of these particular storms is heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts.

According to Environment Canada’s three-day forecast, showers are expected to taper off by Thursday morning.
