Commuters heading east outside of Chatham on Highway 401 ahead of the long weekend may be in for a traffic-related headache.

Provincial police closed the eastbound lanes of the highway at Queen's Line near Tilbury around 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon because of a disabled tractor trailer in the construction zone.

The latest update from police states that the tractor trailer was in the process of being removed from the highway. As of 2 p.m, police said traffic is starting to flow.

The Ministry of Transportation tweeted at 2:30 p.m., that the eastbound lanes have been fully reopened to traffic. However, traffic might be slow-going at times as vehicles move past the construction site.
