Air conditioner stolen from Chatham church

Another theft has been reported at a church in Chatham.

Police said someone stole a Darby window air conditioner from St. Andrew’s United Church on William Street South. The theft took place sometime over this past weekend.

In a separate incident reported last week, police said some electronics and laptops were stolen from a church on Victoria Avenue in Chatham.

Chatham woman accused of yelling at someone she shouldn't have

A 36-year-old Chatham woman has been charged for allegedly yelling at a man she had been ordered to stay away from.

The woman had been ordered to follow several conditions back in May, one of which was to not have contact with a specific man in Chatham. However, the man went to police headquarters on Monday to allege that the woman had yelled at him while he was out getting a coffee.

While at police headquarters, the 36-year-old woman went into the front lobby, where police alleged she continued to yell at the man. She was quickly arrested and later charged for failing to comply with her release conditions.

Golf cart stolen

Officers are investigating after someone stole a golf cart in Wheatley.

Police said sometime between Sunday evening and Monday afternoon, someone broke into a shed on Pier Road and stole a green EZ-GO golf cart, worth approximately $4,000.

Driver charged during RIDE check

Out of eight vehicles checked during a RIDE spot check Monday night, only one driver was charged.

Police said they were conducting the checks on Queen Street in Chatham. One person was charged with driving while under suspension.

Officers are reminding drivers, that RIDE checks will be conducted throughout the summer.
