Man accused of stealing gasoline

A 36-year-old Dresden man who is accused of stealing gasoline from his mother's vehicle is now charged with mischief under $5,000.

Police said the man allegedly drilled a hole into the gas tank of his mother’s parked vehicle and put the stolen gas into a red jerry can. The mother noticed the damage to her vehicle when she stopped at a gas station on Sunday afternoon.

The 36-year-old has a future court date set for August 13.

Bothwell man charged with public intoxication

A 28-year-old man has been arrested following a family dispute.

Officers were called to a Bothwell residence Sunday night. It's alleged that a drunk man ran from the house and started running through a neighbour's back yard, yelling "obscenities".

The 28-year-old was eventually arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

Vehicle stolen in Wallaceburg

Officers are trying to track down a grey 2005 Toyota Corolla, reported stolen from a parking lot in Wallaceburg.

The vehicle, which was parked at Montgomery Drive, did not have plates and the keys were inside the vehicle at the time of the theft.

The vehicle was reportedly stolen sometime between Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. and Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m.

Chatham man charged with failing to comply

A 42-year-old Chatham man who had been under court conditions to not drink alcohol around his son and not communicate with a specific woman has been arrested.

It's alleged that the man was drinking alcohol on Sunday while his son was also in the residence. The 42-year-old is also accused of sending text messages to someone he shouldn't have.

He is now charged with two counts of failing to comply.

Coffee with a Cop

Local police officers will be in Blenheim Wednesday morning for Coffee with a Cop. Officers are looking to meet with local residents and chat. Coffee with a Cop will be held at the Tim Hortons location on Talbot Street West, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
