Police release photo of bear spray suspect

Chatham-Kent police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man who used bear spray on an employee at a Chatham business last month.

The incident happened on June 18 around 6 a.m. According to police, a man attempted to steal a laptop at a business on Richmond Street. When the man was approached by an employee, police said he used bear spray on the worker and fled before officers arrived.

The employee did not require medical attention and police are still looking for a suspect in connection with the incident.

In a previous news release, police described the man as being approximately 100-150 pounds, with a tattoo with cursive writing on his neck. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt with plaid shorts.
