Shattered windows lead to arrest

A man is facing charges after alledging shattering windows at the Downtown Chatham Centre.

It happened Friday afternoon when police responded to a call that someone was throwing rocks at a building. When police arrived they discovered that the outside windows to the mall were shattered.

Officers were able to locate and arrest a 49-year-old Chatham man in relation to the incident. He has been charged with mischief over $5,000 and held in police custody for a bail hearing.

"Angry" man smashes bank door

A man is facing a mischief charge after smashing the front door of a Chatham bank.

It happened Friday at the Royal Bank around 2:30 p.m.

A man left the bank in a state of anger and as a result, allegedly smashed out the business' front glass door.

The 28-year-old suspect was quickly located and arrested. He has been charged with mischief under $5,000.

Jeep stolen in Wallaceburg

Police are on the lookout for a stolen vehicle.

They received information early Friday afternoon that a vehicle had been stolen in the area of Murray Street in Wallaceburg. It had been taken from the property sometime over the past two weeks.

The vehicle in question is a red 2008 Jeep Patriot with no license plates.

Items stolen in late night break and enter

Police are looking for information after a break and enter in Chatham late Friday night.

It happened shortly before midnight at a house on Semenyn Avenue. A television, laptop and jewellery were stolen from the residence.
