CK police briefs - Sunday, June 2, 2019

 Weapons charges and possession of meth 

Shortly before 2:00 p.m. on Saturday police located a pistol grip shotgun, 1.8 ounces of methamphetamine, scales, and cash in plain view.

A landlord of a Chatham home attended with police for an emergency inspection when a .22 cal rifle was also found on a couch.

The 39-year-old tenant was located on scene and arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking and unsafe storage of a firearm.

He was held for bail.

Man charged with intoxication 

Around 2:00 p.m. on Murray Street a man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

The 54-year-old man was arrested after being found walking and unable to care for himself.

He was released when sober.

Man charged with intoxication while driving

Just after 2:00 p.m., in the area of Murray St, a man was arrested for appearing to be intoxicated by alcohol.

The 53-year-old man was located in his vehicle before being transported to the police station.

Breath tests were completed and he was further charged with over 80.

He was released from custody with a future court date.

Breaking Curfew

Around 10:30 p.m., police found a driver to be in breach of his curfew.

During a routine traffic stop on Fairview Line, the 24-year-old man was arrested for breach of undertaking.

He was held for bail.
