Charge laid after vehicle hits laundromat

The damages are estimated at $70,000 after a truck hit a parked car and One Stop Laundry on Park Street in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said that crash took place at around 11:45 p.m. Thursday.

No injuries were reported.

A 40-year-old Chatham man is now charged with careless driving.

Woman wanted in connection with break-in

Chatham-Kent police are asking the public for help to identify a suspect after someone broke into a residence on Langstaff Line in Wallaceburg on Sunday.

Police said anyone who can identify the woman pictured below is asked to contact Constable Kyle Wright at kylew@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600 ext. 87310. You can also submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.

Dresden man accused of assaulting ex-girlfriend

Chatham-Kent police have made an arrest in connection with an alleged disturbance at a residence in Dresden Thursday night.

Police said a 31-year-old Dresden man was arguing with his ex-girlfriend when he allegedly let some air out of her vehicle's tires, took her phone and assaulted her when she tried to take it back.

The man is also accused of breaking her phone by throwing it to the ground.

He was later arrested, charged, and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

First responders on paw patrol rescue puppy

Not every police-related story involves crime.

Officers said Friday morning, they teamed up with some other local emergency crews to rescue a four-week old puppy named Snowflake who fell through cement blocks behind a house in Chatham.
