Woman charged in break and enter

A 42-year-old Thamesville woman is facing charges after entering a house she wasn't supposed to.

It started Friday morning when she entered the residence of a man she knew. Problem was, she was not welcome at his house or invited so he contacted police.

An hour later, the woman was charged with breaking and entering. She was held at the police station for a bail hearing.

Man charged after stealing from hardware store

A 32-year-old man is facing charges after stealing a tool kit from Home Depot in Chatham.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. Friday. The man concealed the $300 tool kit in a bag he had on him and walked out of the store.

Within half an hour officers located the Chatham man and charged him with theft and possession of property under $5,000. He has been held at police headquarters for a bail hearing.

Suspicious man charged with drugs

An observant citizen is to thank for a drug arrest in Chatham.

Shortly before midnight on Friday, the resident called police to report a man wearing dark clothing, walking around the neighbourhood who was also seen walking up a driveway of a house that wasn't his.

Around 12:15 a.m. officers located the man and charged him with trespassing. When they searched him they found drugs and as a result, the 36-year-old Chatham man was also charged with possession.

He was transported to police headquarters and was released with a future court date.

Man arrested on warrant

Police were able to locate a person on their wanted list.

They nabbed the 49-year-old Chatham man around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning. He was arrested on a warrant and held at the police station for a bail hearing.
