$10K in goods stolen from Chatham E-Bikes store

Chatham-Kent police are asking for the public's help as they try to track down about $10,000 of equipment that was stolen from the Chatham E-Bikes store on Grand Avenue East.

The break-in occurred sometime between Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon and police believe there could be multiple people involved.

Once inside, the suspect(s) stole:

  • Black Swann video surveillance hard drive valued at $200
  • Red and black Daymak EM2 e-bike valued at $3,800
  • Black EMMO bike valued at $3,000
  • Red Daymak e-bike valued at $2,000
  • 12 chargers valued at $100 each
  • GPS device valued at $300
  • Loose change

Police are currently investigating the break-in and have not found any of the suspects who were involved in the incident.

Man wanted for mischief arrested and tased  

A 29-year-old man from Wallaceburg who was wanted for mischief under $5000, failing to attend for his fingerprints, and failing to attend court was arrested just before midnight Sunday.

Police said after the man was spotted by an officer on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg, a struggle began between the man and an arresting officer, which led to the suspect being tased before being arrested. After he was subdued, the man was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where he was being held pending a bail hearing.
