UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm watch ends
Environment Canada has ended a severe thunderstorm watch for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex.
The weather agency said on Wednesday afternoon that conditions were favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts.
“Thunderstorms developing over Lake Erie will move over the area later this afternoon,” the advisory said. “Thunderstorms will weaken this evening.”
Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following — large hail, damaging winds and torrential rainfall.
