Mighty Megan is beating the leukemia she was diagnosed with roughly four months ago.
Megan Patrick was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at the end of 2018, but the two-year-old girl from Stoney Point is now in remission, and at this point there are no cancerous cells in her body.
However, she'll need to continue with chemo treatments for another two years or so.
"Just a little over two years left of treatments will be taken care of," said Megan's father Jeremy Patrick. "Some of it has to be done in London, majority of it can be done in Windsor so our travels will be a little bit lighter."
Megan started her next phase of chemo treatment on Wednesday in London.
"Now this set of treatments requires her to stay up there for roughly four days, so right now she's still up in London with my wife," said Patrick. "This type of chemo takes 24 hours to introduce it into her body, and has to be flushed out right away."
Patrick added that the support from the community has been overwhelming.
"It's unbelievable, the communities, the churches, the blood clinics," said Patrick. "It's just overwhelming with the amount of support that we've been getting."
A blood donor and swab clinic was held for Megan and her family in March.
