CK Expo this Saturday in Chatham

Chatham-Kent's annual pop culture show is back for its sixth year.

CK Expo takes place at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and will feature everything from comics, superheroes, video games, sci-fi, and everything in between.

"We have a scavenger hunt, we have some story time by some characters coming in," said organizer Rob Bellamy. "We actually have a musician coming in who's going to dress as Elsa and sing some songs from Frozen. Frank Meschkuleit will be there, he is the voice of Toopy from Toopy and Binoo. He's going to be performing two puppet shows as well."

Bellamy added that there will be lots for the kids, and the kids at heart.

"We have a huge Lego zone, we have a shooting gallery. There's also a Harry Potter group coming that has games an quizzes all about Harry Potter. Sam Noir, one of my favourite artists, he's coming back this year to do free sketches for the kids."

If it has to do with pop culture, Bellamy said it will be at CK Expo.

"Movies, cars, television shows, anything you can think of pop culture, which basically is anything, There's going to be vendors there."

The costume or cosplay contest is the biggest ever this year, with over $1,000 in prizes. Plus, Paul McGillion who played Dr. Carson Beckett in Stargate Atlantis will be a featured guest.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. All the money raised will go to Big Brothers Big Sister Chatham-Kent. Last year over 2,400 people attended. For more information, CLICK HERE.
