Free info session aimed at CK employers

Economic Development wants to help businesses in Chatham-Kent grow.

It's teaming up with Goodwill Career Centre, Employment Ontario, Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board, and Chatham-Kent's Community Attraction and Promotion services to host a free event called "Supercharge Your Workforce: Talent Attraction, Training, and Retention."

"People involved in different types of supports, government grants, incentives for hiring," said Economic Development Officer Anthony Wilson. "We also have some people from our resident attraction and retention team to talk about talent attraction and how those things can be applied to businesses."

Wilson added that it will be a more interactive event.

"It will be able 20 to 25 minutes of five-minute presentations on each, but more networking than anything. So if you come down and you hear something that might be applicable to your business, then you can go and have a good conversation with somebody and talk about your business."

Wilson said the best part is, it's a free event.

"It's another tool that you can put in your tool belt if you own a business or you operate a business here in Chatham-Kent, to come out and, again learn about all the different free services that are available to help you support and grow your business."

Pre-registration is required for the event, which is taking place on Thursday, April 25 at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre from 6 - 7:30 p.m.
