Seminar offers chance to look at upcoming business and technology trends

Any Chatham-Kent residents interested in business and technology will soon have the chance to learn about upcoming industry trends.

The TeCK Talk: Technology, Media & Telecommunications Predictions 2019 seminar will be coming to the area next month. The event is being put on by Chatham-Kent Economic Development in partnership with WEtech Alliance.

Attendees will hear from guest speaker Duncan Stewart, director of technology, media and telecommunications research for Deloitte Canada. Stewart will discuss trends and predictions in the business industry for 2019 and beyond.

“It is vital for the industry to understand the trends coming their way so they can anticipate, adapt and be ready with a proactive strategy rather than a reactive measure,” said Andrew Tompsett, marketing and communications officer with Chatham-Kent Economic Development.

According to Yvonne Pilon, president and CEO of WEtech Alliance, Deloitte Global’s annual technology, media and telecommunications predictions serve as guideposts for future business strategies by providing an outlook on key trends in the various global industry sectors.

“This is a superb opportunity for businesses and entrepreneurs in Chatham-Kent to gain insights into both what is happening now on the ground and also five to ten steps ahead,” said Pilon. “In a matter of 2 hours, attendees will hear the lessons learned through hundreds of conversations with industry leaders and tens of thousands of consumer interviews across the globe.”

The seminar takes place on May 8 at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Learn more or register by clicking here.
