Move denied for Wallaceburg Lakers

The Wallaceburg Lakers were hoping to relocate to Tilbury, but their wish was not granted.

The Junior C  hockey club currently resides at the Wallaceburg Memorial Arena but had put in an application to the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) to move the team out of Wallaceburg and into Tilbury.

However, in an email to Blackburn News, OHA interim executive director Scott Stevens confirmed that during a meeting on April 15, the OHA Board denied the Lakers' application to relocate.

When reached for comment, majority owner and head coach of the Lakers, Ken Shine, said he wasn't ready to speak on the matter yet.
