Man charged with assaulting woman

A Thamesville man is once again in trouble with the law after assaulting a woman.

The 29-year-old had a brush with the law in July 2018 after several domestic-related offences. He was released with conditions.

Two months later, in September, the man was caught breaching the conditions and arrested. He was released again on a recognizance which included not communicating with the victim of the domestic incident.

On Thursday he breached his conditions and attended the woman's house. While there he assaulted her and stole her phone.

Officers arrested the man and charged him with assault, theft under $5,000 and two counts of breaching recognizance. He was transported to the police station and held for a bail hearing.
