Easter weekend prompts several closures in CK

Although it comes late this year, Easter has arrived and that means a few closures around Chatham-Kent.

All arenas in Chatham-Kent will be closed on Friday, but the Blenheim, Dresden, and Thames Campus Arenas will be open on Easter Sunday for scheduled rentals. The Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool and the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will be closed Friday and Sunday. Both pools will have an additional free open swim on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Monday's "after school swim" will be cancelled at the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool.

All public libraries in the municipality will be closed both Friday and Monday but they will be open during regular hours on Saturday.

Kingston Park in Chatham will be buzzing with activity on Easter Monday as Chatham-Kent police and other first responders host the 3rd annual Easter Eggstravaganza. The free event is geared for children aged 0-10 years and runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. More details about the event can be found here.

Some services with the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance will not be available for non-emergent cases during the long weekend. Routine x-rays, electrocardiograms, and ultrasounds will not be available on Friday and Monday. Out-patient rehabilitation services, pre-surgical screening services, the diabetes education centre, and some lab services will not be available during those two days.

Elston Pharmacy, which is located at the Chatham hospital, will also be closed Friday and Monday.
