Community development speaker comes to Chatham

A world-renowned speaker is making a stop in Chatham to talk about all things community development.

Peter Kenyon will be sharing his perspective on leadership in challenging times for rural communities.

Kenyon has forty years experience and has worked with over 2,000 communities on the topic of asset based community driven development. He specializes in working with what a community already has instead of what they need and aims to bring creative ways to help with local economic renewal.

According to Mayor Darrin Canniff, attending the session is a must for anyone interested in building a stronger community.

“We are fortunate to have one of the top experts in community development in the world speaking right here in Chatham-Kent,” he said. “We have an incredible opportunity to learn, exchange ideas and re-energize our approach to making our community better.”

The event will take place on April 12 at the Kiwanis theatre and is free to attend. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
