Trio arrested after neighbourhood dispute

Three Chatham men are facing charges after Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance between some neighbours in Chatham over the past weekend.

Police said through their investigation, they were able to identify three suspects in connection with the case and arrested all three of them Tuesday night.

A 32-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, a 27-year-old man is charged with uttering threats, and a 29-year-old Chatham man is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

All three of the accused were later released with conditions and a future court date.

Police find wanted man during traffic stop

The long arm of the law has caught up with a 53-year-old man who was wanted for a number of offences in Chatham-Kent.

Police said they arrested him after an officer on general patrol pulled over a vehicle on Community Road in Dresden.

The man was wanted for fraud-related offences, drug possession, and failing to attend court, and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Truck reported stolen from Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent police are working to track down a grey 2018 Chev Silverado pick-up truck that was reportedly stolen from a residence on North River Line in Wallaceburg.

Police said it was taken sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The truck was last seen with Ontario licence plates 607 9FN.

Tickets handed out around school zone in Chatham

Six drivers will be paying the price after police spotted their vehicles while they were parked in the wrong spot in a school zone on Delaware Avenue in Chatham.

Officers said they were all issued parking tickets during a traffic enforcement blitz Tuesday afternoon.

Officers wearing green ribbons for Organ Donation

Chatham-Kent police officers, paramedics, and firefighters will all be wearing green ribbons this month in support of Organ & Tissue Donation.

A release from the local police force said even though 85% of Ontarians are in favour of organ donation, only 1 in 3 potential donors has registered consent.
