Habitat for Humanity CK gets $10K grant ahead of new build

Habitat for Humanity Chatham-Kent has received a funding boost as the organization plans out its next project.

The local branch of the organization accepted a cheque for $10,000 from Revera Retirement Living Friday afternoon. The funding is part of a grant for Habitat's work within the community.

According to a release from Habitat for Humanity, Revera works on a continuous basis with Habitat affiliates through a national partnership. Besides financial support, Revera employees have volunteered over 2,400 hours in fundraisers and build days.

“Our partnership with Revera Retirement Living is a fairly new one that we have enjoyed developing over the last year or so. We are looking forward to the possibility of having some of the Revera team members work with us on our Woods Street build in Chatham this summer,” said Nancy McDowell, executive director of Habitat for Humanity Chatham-Kent.

Residents who are looking to help Habitat for Humanity with the upcoming build project in Chatham are encouraged to contact the organization at (519) 352-4440.

Habitat for Humanity Chatham-Kent is a non-profit organization that looks to provide homes for families in the community. The organization also run the ReStore, which sells gently-used items.
