Sunshine List released in CK

The list of Chatham-Kent employees who earned more than $100,000 in 2018 has been released.

In total, 250 employees made the list, 22 more than 2017.

Don Shropshire, chief administrative officer, topped the list overall earning $240,000 with another $10,000 in taxable benefits.

For non-union workers, Dr. David Colby was second behind Shropshire, raking in around $204,000.

This year, 124 members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service made the list. Police Chief Gary Conn was at the top, making just shy of $220,000.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services workers accounted for 62 names on the list. Fire Chief Robert Crawford was the top earner of the fire services employees, pulling in just over $175,000.

“It should be noted,” said Cathy Hoffman, general manager and corporate services chief human resources officer, “That the Consumer Price Index has not been applied to the reporting process since its inception in 1996, which would otherwise have put the reporting level at $152,154 in 2018. At this level, Chatham-Kent would have 15 names on the list.”
