Police renew appeal for tips on Wallaceburg school threat

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers officials are appealing to the public for tips as officers continue to investigate a threatening note that was found at a Wallaceburg high school at the end of last month.

A release from the local branch of the agency said the note, which threatened an individual at the school, was found at Wallaceburg District Secondary School on Thursday, February 28.

Officials said, "the victim was advised of the threat and, in the interest of safety, the school was closed the following day." WDSS re-opened Monday, March 4 without incident after police advised the school board on Friday, March 1 that investigators did not believe there was any imminent threat to public safety.

Crime Stoppers is still looking for any information that may be able to identify the persons responsible, adding that you can submit an anonymous tip by calling 519-251-8477 or online at www.crimes-stoppers.on.ca. Your tip could also lead to a cash reward.
