Arrests on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent police have made four more arrests from their wanted list.

Police said the first of the four is a woman who was wanted for failing to attend court. She was arrested Tuesday morning and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

A 23-year-old Chatham man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly failing to comply with his probation order. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Police said they also arrested a 25-year-old man who was wanted on a number of outstanding warrants for unspecified offences. Officers said the man was spotted walking down the street in Chatham Tuesday. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

The fourth arrest involved a 30-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for breaching his bail conditions. He was arrested Tuesday night and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Passed out behind the wheel

A 46-year-old St. Thomas man is in trouble with the law after police allegedly found him passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in Chatham Tuesday evening.

Police said officers on general patrol found him and determined that he had been driving while impaired by drugs.

The accused was taken to police headquarters for further testing and later charged with impaired driving. He has since been released with conditions and a future court date.

Coffee with a Cop

Chatham-Kent police are extending an invitation to members of the public to join them on Wednesday, March 20 between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. at McDonald’s on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg for another Coffee with a Cop event.

It offers local residents a chance to have a casual conversation with police over a cup of coffee.
