Woman wanted for theft arrested in Sarnia

A 45-year-old Kerwood woman who has been wanted by Chatham-Kent police for the last year and a half in connection with a theft investigation in Bothwell has been arrested.

Police said in September 2017, the woman was allegedly caught on camera walking out of a store in Bothwell with several items without paying for them.

Officers were able to identify the accused, but they weren't able to find her, so they issued a warrant for her arrest.

Police said Sarnia police arrested the woman Sunday and turned her over to Chatham-Kent police. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Minivan reported stolen in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to track down a minivan that was reportedly stolen from a residence on Queen Street in Tilbury.

Police said it is believed the blue 2003 Dodge Caravan was taken sometime between Friday, March 8 and Sunday, March 10.

The vehicle was last seen with the Ontario licence plates BJEM 207.
