Resident helps stop impaired driver

A Chatham-Kent resident is being credited with helping to take down a drunk driver.

It happened Friday night around 10 p.m. The resident called police after they noticed a vehicle swerving all over the road on Bear Line near Robin Line.

When police arrived at the scene to stop the car, they believed the man was under the influence of alcohol.

The 24-year-old Milton man was charged with driving over the legal limit. He was released once sober and given a future court date.

--------- Running a red light leads to collision

A collision has led to over $35,000 in vehicle damage.

The crash happened Friday afternoon on King Street at Lacroix.

Although damage to the vehicles was extensive, no injuries were reported.

As a result, one of the drivers was given a ticket for failing to stop at a red light.

Man arrested on warrant

Chatham-Kent police were able to locate a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The 26-year-old man was originally released from custody in February for drug possession.

He was supposed to attend court on February 29 but never showed up.

He was located yesterday in Wallaceburg by an officer on general patrol.

He was arrested and transported to the courthouse.
