CK police briefs - Tuesday, February 19, 2019

A 35-year-old Chatham man who was allegedly found hiding under someone's deck is facing a few charges.

Chatham-Kent police said officers were called about a domestic disturbance on Baldoon Road around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. Once the 35-year-old was found, he was arrested and charged with three counts of assault and two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

A 33-year-old Chatham woman was also charged with failing to comply with her release conditions. Both were held in custody for bail hearings.

Officers have recovered a stolen pick-up truck, but they're still looking for some more information from the public.

A green Chevy Tahoe was reported stolen Sunday night from a parking lot on Emma Street in Chatham before it turned up in a ditch on Caledonia Road on Monday.

Police are still investigating and they're asking anyone with information to call 519-436-6600 ext. 83666 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

A few drivers have been charged in connection with several traffic violations.

Police said six drivers were stopped and charged for speeding on Four Rod Road, south of Chatham on Monday.

In a separate enforcement blitz on the same day, police stopped two drivers on Middle Line near Bolohan Drive in Tilbury. They were both charged with speeding.

Police are reminding drivers that traffic enforcement will continue throughout the year.

A 33-year-old Chatham man is facing additional charges for allegedly breaching his release conditions.

Officers arrested the man early Tuesday morning on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply.

He is now charged with another count of failing to comply.
