Freezing rain warning issued for CK, Windsor-Essex

Environment Canada is giving drivers across the region a heads-up that they can expect some icy roads overnight and early Tuesday morning.

The weather agency issued a freezing rain warning for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex late Monday morning with snow expected to change briefly to ice pellets Monday evening before changing again to freezing rain overnight.

Forecasters are expecting about two to four centimetres of snow and ice pellets before about five to 15 millimetres of freezing rain falls on the area.

The freezing rain should transition to straight rain by 12 p.m. Tuesday.
