Traffic stop leads to arrest 

Saturday morning on Queen Street in Chatham, police conducted a traffic stop.

The officer soon learned that one of the passengers in the vehicle was wanted on an outstanding warrant for theft under $5,000.

The 38-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was held for a bail hearing.

Man hides from police on roof 

Around 3 a.m. Sunday morning, police attempted to stop a cyclist in the area of Hyslop Street in Chatham.

The cyclist fled from police and entered a backyard. Officers searched the area and located the man hiding on the roof of a residence.

Through investigation, officers learned that the man currently has court orders to obey a daily curfew.

The 41-year-old Chatham man was arrested for failing to comply with the conditions of his release.

He was transported to police headquarters where he was held for a bail hearing.

Woman arrested on warrants 

A 35-year-old Chatham woman was arrested yesterday morning. The arrest came after an officer on patrol recognized the woman and, through investigation, learned she was wanted on a warrant for fraud, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and failing to comply with release conditions.

The woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters. She was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man causing a disturbance gets arrested 

Around 10 a.m. Saturday morning, police were called to a business on Richmond Street in Chatham, after reports of a man causing a disturbance.

When police arrived, they located the man and learned that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

As an officer attempted to arrest the man, he began to run away.

After a short foot chase, the 38-year-old Chatham man was caught and arrested for failing to comply with the conditions of his release.

The man was taken to the police station and was later released with conditions and a future court date.
