Municipality asks for help from residents to keep streets clear

With heavy snow hitting the region, Chatham-Kent’s Public Works Department is asking for help from the public to minimize the parking of vehicles on municipal streets.

The municipality said the fewer vehicles parked on the road, the easier it is for snowplows to clear away snow and ice. Officials add that residents should keep a safe distance when driving behind snowplows and avoid passing them.

A snow emergency parking ban has not been put in place at this time but the municipality said it may enforce it if the snowfall is heavier than forecasted.
