Man charged after assaulting two women

Early yesterday morning at 4:30 a.m. police responded to a residence in Thamesville after a report of an assault.

Officers learned that the man had assaulted two women.

The women were known to him. One of them was pushed to the ground and the other was struck in the face. They suffered minor injuries.

As a result, a 29-year-old man from Thamesville was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.

He was transported to the police station where he has been held for a bail hearing. ---------

Cedar Springs man busted for impaired driving

At 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning a police officer on patrol in Chatham stopped a vehicle on Wedgewood Avenue at Copperfield Crescent.

The officer believed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

The 35-year-old Cedar Springs man was arrested and charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where he was released with a court date.

--------- Man arrested on a warrant

Saturday afternoon an officer on general patrol in Chatham stopped a man on Gray Street.

It was revealed that the 22-year-old Chatham man had a warrant out for his arrest.

He was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
