Toy Show and Sale Sunday

The Chatham-Kent Toy Show and Sale is back for its 18th year.

This year's show is taking place on Sunday, September 20 at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

"There's everything from farm toys to cars, trucks, books, coins, dolls, you name it, it's probably there," said co-organizer Rob Sterling.

There is also a special area for kids to play.

"The Block Parents, they set up a bunch of toys and a rug for them to play on," said co-organizer Carl Sterling. "We also have the Home Depot Kids Workshop there from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where the kids can actually build a project and take it home with them."

A number of local groups will have displays, including the Chatham Model Railroad Club, the CK Cyber Pack, Chatham Aeronauts, and the Kent Essex Gaming Society.

Carl adds that the event has really grown from their first year.

"We probably had 25 tables back at the Wheels when we first started, now we're over 180," he said. "Lots of growth and we've had a great amount of vendors wanting to come this year, so it's building every year."

Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for students, and children 6 and under are free. Proceeds from the show are going to Chatham-Kent 4-H Club, Essex-Kent Junior Farmers and Outreach for Hunger. For more information, CLICK HERE.
