Man charged with theft

An 18-year-old man who was released from police custody in October is back in a holding cell.

Police said the man was arrested in Wallaceburg Monday afternoon on an outstanding warrant after allegedly failing to comply with his release conditions.

Officers said they also found a stolen wallet on the man when they arrested him.

The accused was charged with failing to comply, theft, and possession of stolen property and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police find woman carrying stolen ID

A 37-year-old Walpole Island woman who was wanted for allegedly cashing a fraudulent cheque for more than $800 at Money Mart in Chatham has been arrested.

Police said they had been looking for the woman since the end of October before officers arrested her at Walmart in Chatham Monday night.

When they were searching the woman, officers allegedly found some stolen credit cards and government-issued identification on her as well.

She was charged with fraud, forgery, uttering a forged document, possession of stolen property, and two counts of failing to comply with her probation order and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chevy Camaro stolen from Wallaceburg address

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to track down a white 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC that was stolen from an address on Kimball Road near McCreary Line.

Police said the vehicle was up for sale and was taken sometime over the weekend.

The vehicle has tinted windows and a "T" roof and was last seen with a dealer plate attached.

Truck reported stolen in Thamesville

Police are asking for the public's help to locate a silver 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck that was reportedly stolen from a residence on Wallace Street in Thamesville early Tuesday morning.

Officers said the truck has a white cap and an extension ladder on the roof. It was last seen with Ontario license plates ATP03.

Booze, electronics targeted during Dover Township break-in

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break-in in the Mitchell's Bay area.

Police said someone broke into a residence on Angler Line sometime between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday and took off with a TV, a surround sound system, some alcohol, and some jewelry.

Tires stolen just outside of Wallaceburg

Police are trying to track down some tires that were stolen from a storage unit at Jack’s Tire Craft on McCreary Line just east of Wallaceburg.

Investigators said someone broke in at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning and took off with an undisclosed number of tires.

Lawn equipment stolen from shed in Blenheim

A black 42" lawn sweeper has been reported stolen after someone reportedly broke into a shed on Chatham Street North in Blenheim.

That was sometime between late Sunday afternoon and early Monday morning.

Police said the damage that was caused by the break-in is estimated at $50 while the sweeper is valued at approximately $300.

Tools stolen from garage

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after some tools were reportedly stolen from a garage on Beechwood Line sometime over the past month.

Police said a welder, a small motor, and a cable were all taken and have a combined estimated value of $1,100.

Drone found in Blenheim

If you lost a drone in the Blenheim-area at the end of November last year, police may have found it.

Officers said it turned up in someone's backyard and police are hoping to return it to its rightful owner.

If you believe the drone may be yours, you're asked to call the Blenheim Service Centre at 519-676-5133.
