What's open and closed during the holidays

All municipally-run offices will be closed over the next few days for the holiday break.

Closures will take place from noon on Christmas Eve (December 24) through to Boxing Day (December 26). Offices will also be closed from noon New Years Eve (December 31) and on New Year's Day (January 1).

Some of the municipal offices closed during the holidays include the Health and Family Services building, public libraries, the Public Health Unit, and the provincial offences court.

The Capitol Theatre will be open December 27 - December 29 for evening shows.

As for municipal services, some will not be available on certain days. CK Transit will not be operational December 25, December 26, and January 1, 2019.

Garbage and recycling pick-up will be delayed by one day.

Emergency services will be available at all times, as will emergency rooms at sites under the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. However, some services will be unavailable over the holidays for non-urgent matters.

Routine X-rays, electrocardiograms, and ultrasounds will not be available December 25 and 26, and January 1, 2019. Out-Patient Rehabilitation Services at both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will not be available from December 24 to 28, as well as January 1, 2019.

Elston Pharmacy, located at the Chatham hospital will close at 2 p.m. Christmas Eve and reopen December 27 during holiday hours. The pharmacy will also be closed New Years Day.
