Dresden goes all out for the holidays

Lights will twinkle in Dresden Saturday night, with no shortage of things to do.

The second annual Downtown Dresden Christmas Night Market will get underway Saturday at 4 p.m. and will run until 8:30 p.m.

"It went really well last year," said event organizer Tyler Ouellette, who added that there were about 2,500 people in attendance in 2017. "We're hoping for the same amount [of people] or bigger this year. We've nearly doubled the number of vendors we have this year and we've also added some cool features as well. We're going to have a live ice carving demonstration, we have real reindeer for people to get pictures with... we also have live carollers on site."

Over 50 unique, local vendors will line Main Street for the event, as well.

"There's a wide range from crafts to food preserves," said Ouellette. "There's a lot of different ideas for gifts for Christmas."

Children are also encouraged to bring their letters to Santa Claus as volunteers will be around to collect them.

In the meantime, the Santa Claus parade is also scheduled to happen in Dresden Saturday night at 6 p.m.

"The Kinsmen parade will definitely help," said Ouellette. "It kind of adds to the atmosphere of the whole event."
