The fitness club at the Downtown Chatham Centre will look a little different in the new year.
GoodLife Fitness has confirmed that the Chatham location will temporarily close so that the location can change into a Fit4Less club.
"The decision did not come easily but was made to continue towards achieving our purpose to give every Canadian the opportunity to live a fit and healthy good life," as stated in an email sent by Adam Roberts, public relations manager for GoodLife. "After a thorough review of the area and our current offerings, we have decided that a Fit4Less is the best way to offer a sustainable low-cost high-value club in the city."
GoodLife Fitness members will be able to use the centre until January 8, 2019. The following day, on January 9, the gym will start operating as a Fit4Less club.
As for the current Chatham employees at GoodLife Fitness, the club said associates have been offered the chance to transfer to a different location. Club members who are willing to travel to a different location with their members are encouraged to contact an associate at the Chatham gym. However, the closest GoodLife locations will be in Windsor, Strathroy, London, or Sarnia.
When the new Fit4Less location opens, the current Chatham Fit4Less location at the Real Canadian Superstore will close permanently.
